Antonio Marras

Born in Alghero in Sardinia in 1962, Antonio Marras is one of the most interesting of today's fashion designers. He had no formal schooling in fashion but, via his father's textile store, developed enough of a passion for fabric to convince an entrepreneur from Rome to back him to create his first ready-to-wear collection in 1988. In the city of Alghero, far from the uproar of the jet-set and the fashion system, he creates his pure fashion, layer on layer in search of his roots.
