Bernardo

Bernardo was founded in founded in 1947 by Bernard Rudofsky—“the father of modern day sandals.” A designer and architect, Bernard was quite progressive in the fifties for questioning the rationality of modern day designs. He felt that footwear and apparel were not designed with the shape of the human body in mind. His sandal designs not only freed the foot, they also opened the eyes and minds of those who loved fashion. As a result, Rudofsky’s sandal designs soon enjoyed tremendous commercial success while launching a sandal revolution.
