Taryn Rose

As an orthopedic surgeon, Taryn Rose treated a stream of female patients whose feet had fallen victim to pointy-toed, high-heeled footwear—while she herself could barely withstand the long working hours in her own ultra-chic shoes. So in 1998, the doctor-cum-designer created a line of luxury shoes geared to ending the foot problems of fashion-lovers. Specially designed to fit the unique anatomy of a woman’s foot, each pair is handcrafted in Italy using leather and Poron, a patented shock-absorbing substance also used by NASA.
